My Mother's ashes were buried in Mathon Churchyard in 1999.We did not have a plaque put down but now would like to do so.I visit often and I have noticed there is a space for one.Whom would I contact to ask for necessary permission?

Mathon War Memorial

We intend to produce a leaflet giving all the information we can find about the men of this village who gave their lives in the 1914 to 18 war. A certain amount has already been gathered from the excellent records which are now available. If anyone can give us more information, will they please contact us? Photographs (which could be copied and returned) would be especially valuable.

The Mathon Archive - can you help?

I am collecting material for a Mathon Archive. The point of this is
to try to get in one place all the items concerning Mathon's past, or
if not the items, then to create a gazetteer of what's around.

So far this trawl has produced the usual meeting minutes from the
Church and the Parish Hall, but any other contributions would be
welcome. If you've any contributions, please either reply to this
